High-voltage safety: professional service only
EVTU shares technical knowledge openly, with one firm boundary: hybrid traction batteries should only be opened by trained technicians.
Why it is dangerous
- Hybrid packs run at hundreds of volts, enough to injure or kill.
- Modules stay charged even when the car is off and even after the pack is removed.
- A dropped tool across terminals can cause a violent short, sparks and burns.
- Damaged cells can overheat or catch fire.
Professional procedure
Proper high-voltage procedure means disconnecting and isolating the pack, verifying it with a meter, using insulated tools and gloves, and working on one module at a time. EVTU is backed by decades of high-voltage substation and SCADA experience.
If a hybrid shows symptoms, contact the EVTU team. Understanding the system is for everyone; servicing it is a job for trained technicians.
